Arnold M. Rubenstein
Arnold M. Rubenstein, Vice President of Merchandising and Field
Operations, a member of the Buxbaum management team, joined Buxbaum
Group in 1990. He brings over 40 years of retail and financial
administration experience to the company. Arnold’s current
assignment is President of Gramicci a recent acquisition of Buxbaum
Group. Gramicci is a famous brand 17 year old manufacturer of
clothing for men and women geared to the outdoor retail sector.
In 1960, Mr. Rubenstein began with merchandising and store
management positions at Saks Fifth Avenue in Chicago. He later moved
to other assignments with Saks in Troy, Michigan and corporate
headquarters in New York City. Early in 1970, Mr. Rubenstein moved
to the May Department Stores, Strauss' division in Ohio, where he
held merchandising and store management positions. From 1975 through
1977, Mr. Rubenstein joined the specialty store chain of Woolf
Brothers in Dallas, TX as General Merchandise Manager. He then moved
to Godchaux's in New Orleans, LA, from 1977 to 1979. Following
various merchandising and store management duties at Federated's
Sanger-Harris division in Dallas, TX from 1980 to 1986, Mr.
Rubenstein moved to Frost Brothers of San Antonio, TX from 1986 to
1988. By early 1989, Mr. Rubenstein was engaged as General Manager
of Fendi USA's retail operations, opening the group's New York City
headquarters store.
Originally from Detroit, he is a proud veteran of the U.S. Air
Force who served during the Korean War and studied at both the
University of Michigan and the University of Southern California.
